Medellín, 11 de abril de 2025. El rector del TdeA, Institución Universitaria, Leonardo García Botero, presentó el balance de gestión académica y administrativa, en el marco del ejercicio de rendición de cuentas correspondiente al período 2024.
La audiencia pública se realizó en el auditorio institucional del campus de Robledo, bajo la estrategia denominada “Date Cuenta”, en la cual el directivo expuso los logros más significativos del año anterior, ante delegados de entes de control, estudiantes, docentes, empleados, egresados y comunidad en general.
“Presentamos un año con muchos logros para la Institución Universitaria, con una ampliación de cobertura histórica, gracias a la estrategia de responsabilidad social “Territorio TdeA” y el crecimiento en el número de programas. Se alcanzó un balance muy positivo. Cada día del año reflejó importantes aportes a la consolidación de ese propósito gerencial de consolidar al TdeA como una de las instituciones de educación superior públicas más sólidas del departamento y de Colombia”, afirmó el rector.
La audiencia pública se complementó con una feria institucional, actividad de transparencia, participación y acceso a la información pública, enmarcada las cinco líneas estratégicas del Plan de Desarrollo Institucional 2022-2026, denominado “Ser, Hacer, Trascender”, que llegó a un cumplimiento del 86%.
“Estamos muy satisfechos por los logros alcanzados. Con 5.703 estudiantes nuevos llegamos, en 2024, el primer años de la estrategia ‘Territorio TdeA’ a 40 municipios de Antioquia, estuvimos también en Norte de Santander, Caldas y Nariño”, expuso el rector. Con 12.486 estudiantes en el primer semestre y 17.343, en el segundo período de 2024 se aumentó la cobertura educativa en el 75 %. Ahora (en 2025) tenemos presencia en más de 72 localidades por fuera del área metropolitana, agregó el rector.
Ese incremento de la comunidad académica se reflejó en el número de alumnos activos en los diferentes programas de las unidades académicas. Del total de estudiantes del TdeA en 2024, la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas y Económica, tuvo el 31 %; la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Exactas, el 29 %; la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses, el 24 %; y la Facultad de Ingeniería, albergó al 16 % de la población estudiantil. Los positivos indicadores también se reflejan en una permanencia del 94 %, donde han sido fundamentales los beneficios por gratuidad, que acogen a un 95% de los estudiantes.
Así mismo, se destacan los logros en investigación, las estrategias de bienestar evidenciadas en actividades culturales, deportivas, de desarrollo humano, de diversidad y beneficios estudiantiles; los proyectos de internacionalización y la proyección social y ante el sector productivo. Es de resaltar que, bajo el proyecto de Fondo Alimentario, se entregaron 2.400 canastas solidarias.
En 42 años de actividades académicas, la institución ha aportado casi 50.000 egresados al mercado laboral y profesional; el año pasado, la institución otorgó el título a 2.349 nuevos graduados en 42 programas, 28 de pregrado y 14 de posgrado.
Con un 72 % de empleabilidad, los egresados con sello y alma TdeA son altamente solicitados por las diferentes empresas y organizaciones de los sectores social y productivo del país.
“Disponemos de una oferta académica que se ajusta a las realidades de los territorios. En 2024 dimos apertura a cuatro nuevos programas de pregrado: Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes, Tecnología en Gestión de la Ciberseguridad, Tecnología en Implementación de Servicios IoT (Internet de las cosas) e Ingeniería Agronómica; y tres de posgrado: Especialización en Tecnologías Aplicadas a la Geomática, Doctorado en Economía y Finanzas y Especialización en Neurociencias Jurica y Forenses”, resaltó Botero García.
Al respecto, el directivo indicó que la institución está a la espera del registro calificado para iniciar nuevas careras que ya fueron radicadas ante el Ministerio de Educación Nacional -MEN-.
Buenas calificaciones y grandes inversiones
El cumplimiento de las cinco líneas estratégicas y objetivos que conforman el Plan de Acción 2024 llegó a un 92 %; en la evaluación anual de Auditoría de Cumplimiento, la Contraloría General de Antioquia calificó a la institución con 98,3 puntos, lo que denota un concepto fiscal interno como eficiente; también, el reporte de auditoría arrojó cero inconformidades.
Entre tanto, el Índice de Desempeño Institucional -IDI-, determinado por la Evaluación del Formulario Único de Reportes de la Gestión -Furag- fue de 90.5 puntos; mientras que el indicador del Índice de Transparencia Nacional de Gestión en Línea, para la vigencia 2024, alcanzó el 97 %.
Estas buenas calificaciones también se reflejaron en materia de infraestructura física y tecnológica, esta última con una inversión superior a los $3.500 millones y la ejecución de grandes iniciativas, así como la percepción positiva del clima organizacional con un 89 %, que se suman a las acciones de atención al ciudadano, con el Punto TdeA.
El año pasado, el patrimonio institucional se calculó en $228.058.000.000, $38.710.000.000 más que 2023, lo que refleja una variación positiva del 20 % entre un período y otro. También, se resaltó que el TdeA es una entidad sana financieramente y sin deuda pública.
Respecto a obras, en 2024, con una inversión superior a los $1.111 millones, la institución puso en marcha el Centro de Centro de Emprendimiento, Transferencia e Innovación -CETI-, infraestructura tecnológica equipada con laboratorio de prototipado, impresoras 3D y otras herramientas pensadas para el emprendimiento y desarrollo de ideas creativas de la comunidad TdeA.
El Campus de Soberanía Universitaria fue otra de las acciones sociales activadas el año pasado; al igual que el Aula Taller Pedagógico Infantil y la Sala de Lactancia Materna, espacios pensados para proteger y acoger a las madres gestantes y lactantes de la comunidad académica.
Para este año, se espera la culminación de dos obras de alto impacto en el clima institucional, en el Bulevar TechCul (tecnología y cultura) la entidad invierte casi $10 mil millones; la obra se encuentra en un 70 % de ejecución.
Así mismo, en el segundo semestre de 2025, se estima la finalización y entrega del campus universitario Aburrá Sur, en Itagüí. Para esta obra, que presenta un avance del 95 %, se han destinado más de $30 mil millones.
La nueva sede del TdeA acogerá a cerca de 5.000 estudiantes del sur del Valle de Aburrá, Suroeste antiqueño y otros territorios de la capital del departamento. El equipamiento tendrá 65 aulas, tres laboratorios, escenarios deportivos, piscina semiolímpica, gimnasio y seis sala de cómputo, entre otros espacios.
Además, por estar ubicado dentro del área de influencia del parque natural Ditaires será una infraestructura con enfoque ambiental y amigable con los ecosistemas del entorno, acorde al compromiso institucional con los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible -ODS-.
En la rendición de cuentas 2024, el rector del TdeA hizo un recuento de las obras del Campus Aburrá Sur, las intervenciones físicas y ambientales para poder entregar a la comunidad “este sueño compartido”.
Por último, Leonardo García presentó ante la comunidad la nueva visión del TdeA, construida de manera conjunta: “Para el año 2043, seremos reconocidos por la generación de conocimiento que promueve la vida, las tecnologías y la transformación sostenible de los territorios, desde un enfoque sistémico y de manera ética, incluyente y diversa”.

TdeA University Institution president, Leonardo García Botero, presented the report on academic and administrative management, as part of the accountability exercise for the 2024 period.
The public presentation was held in the institutional auditorium of the Robledo campus, under the strategy called "Date Cuenta," (Be informed) in which the president presented the most significant achievements of the previous year to delegates from control entities, students, teachers, employees, alumni, and the general community.
"We present a year with many achievements for the University Institution, with a historic expansion of coverage, thanks to the social responsibility strategy 'Territorio TdeA' and the growth in the number of programs. "A very positive balance was achieved. Each day of the year reflected significant contributions to the consolidation of that managerial purpose of establishing TdeA as one of the most solid public higher education institutions in the department and in Colombia," affirmed the president.
The public event was complemented by an institutional fair, an activity of transparency, participation, and access to public information, framed within the five strategic lines of the 2022-2026 Institutional Development Plan, called "Being, Doing, Transcending," which achieved an 86% compliance.
"We are very satisfied with the achievements reached. "With 5,703 new students, in 2024, the first year of the 'Territorio TdeA' strategy, we reached 40 municipalities in Antioquia, and we were also in Norte de Santander, Caldas, and Nariño," stated the president. With 12,486 students in the first semester and 17,343 in the second period of 2024, educational coverage increased by 75%. Now (in 2025) we have a presence in more than 72 locations outside the metropolitan area, added.
That increase in the academic community was reflected in the number of active students in the different programs of the academic units. Of the total number of students at TdeA in 2024, the School of Administrative and Economic Sciences accounted for 31%; the School of Education and Exact Sciences, 29%; the School of Law and Forensic Sciences, 24%; and the School of Engineering housed 16% of the student population. The positive indicators are also reflected in a retention rate of 94%, where the benefits of free education, which cover 95% of the students, have been fundamental.
Likewise, the achievements in research, the well-being strategies evidenced in cultural, sports, human development, diversity activities, and student benefits; the internationalization projects, and the social projection and engagement with the productive sector are highlighted. It is noteworthy that, under the Food Fund project, 2,400 solidarity baskets (grocery products) were distributed.
In 42 years of academic activities, the institution has contributed nearly 50,000 graduates to the labor and professional market; last year, the institution awarded degrees to 2,349 new graduates in 42 programs, 28 undergraduate and 14 graduate.
With a 72% employability rate, graduates with the TdeA seal and spirit are highly sought after by various companies and organizations in the country's social and productive sectors.
"We have an academic offer that fits the realities of the territories. In 2024, we launched four new undergraduate programs: Bachelor's in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports, Technology in Cybersecurity Management, Technology in IoT (Internet of Things) Service Implementation, and Agronomic Engineering; and three graduate programs: Specialization in Technologies Applied to Geomatics, Doctorate in Economics and Finance, and Specialization in Legal and Forensic Neurosciences," highlighted Botero García.
In this regard, the director indicated that the institution is awaiting the qualified registration to start new programs that have already been submitted to the Ministry of National Education -MEN-.
Good grades and big investments
Compliance with the five strategic lines and objectives that make up the 2024 Action Plan reached 92% rate; in the annual Compliance Audit evaluation, the Contraloría General de Antioquia, (General Comptroller's Office of Antioquia) rated the institution with 98.3 points, indicating an internal fiscal concept as efficient; additionally, the audit report showed zero discrepancies.
Meanwhile, the Institutional Performance Index (IDI), determined by the Evaluation of the Single Management Reporting Form (Furag), was 90.5 points; while the indicator of the National Online Management Transparency Index, for the 2024 period, reached 97%.
These good ratings were also reflected in terms of physical and technological infrastructure, the latter with an investment exceeding $3.5 billion and the execution of major initiatives, as well as the positive perception of the organizational climate with 89%, which adds to the citizen service actions, with the Punto TdeA.
Last year, the institutional equity was calculated at COP $228,058,000,000, COP $38,710,000,000 more than in 2023, reflecting a positive variation of 20% between the two periods. It was also highlighted that the TdeA is a financially sound entity with no public debt.
Regarding construction, in 2024, with an investment exceeding COP $1,111 million, the institution launched the Center for Entrepreneurship, Transfer, and Innovation -CETI-, a technological infrastructure equipped with a prototyping lab, 3D printers, and other tools designed for entrepreneurship and the development of creative ideas within the TdeA community.
The University Sovereignty Campus was another of the social actions activated last year; just like the Children's Pedagogical Workshop Classroom and the Maternal Lactation Room, spaces designed to protect and welcome pregnant and breastfeeding mothers from the academic community.
For this year, the completion of two high-impact projects in the institutional climate is expected. In the TechCul Boulevard (technology and culture), the entity is investing nearly COP $10,000 million; the project is 70% complete.
Likewise, in the second semester of 2025, the completion and delivery of the Aburrá Sur university campus in Itagüí is estimated. For this project, which is 95% complete, more than COP$30,000 million have been allocated.
The new TdeA campus will accommodate around 5,000 students from the southern part of the Aburrá Valley, southwestern Antioquia, and other areas of the department's capital. The facility will have 65 classrooms, three laboratories, sports fields, a semi-Olympic pool, a gym, and six computer rooms, among other spaces.
Additionally, due to its location within the influence area of the Ditaires Natural Park, it will be an infrastructure with an environmental focus and friendly to the surrounding ecosystems, in line with the institutional commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals -SDGs-.
In the 2024 accountability report, the TdeA President recounted the works of the Aburrá Sur Campus, the physical and environmental interventions to deliver "this shared dream" to the community.
Finally, Leonardo García presented to the community the new vision of TdeA, built jointly: "By the year 2043, we will be recognized for the generation of knowledge that promotes life, technologies, and the sustainable transformation of territories, from a systemic approach and in an ethical, inclusive, and diverse manner."
