Con el corazón alegre, así estuvo el TdeA este miércoles 26 de marzo, cuando se materializó uno de los días más importantes para nuestra institución universitaria, que abrazó a 959 familias en tres ceremonias de grado, realizadas en el Teatro Metropolitano. En este día, lleno de emoción y orgullo se realizaron los actos protocolarios de graduación de programas de las facultades de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, Ingeniería, Derecho y Ciencias Forenses y Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas.
Después de ocho años trabajando en el día como asistente administrativa, asumiendo su rol de madre a tiempo completo y estudiando en las noches, Maritza Duque logró su título como psicóloga a sus 39 años. “Tuve turnos nocturnos y me tocaba organizar horarios como pudiera. Fue una locura, muchas veces tuve que cancelar materias, pero siempre encontramos la manera de seguir adelante”, compartió emocionada junto a sus hijos y esposo, su apoyo incondicional en este camino de perseverancia.
Lizeth Rivera recibió su título como trabajadora social, sueño que comenzó hace años en voluntariados en el barrio Santa María, en Itagüí. “Siempre he sido una apasionada por el trabajo social. Estoy muy agradecida con la academia por haberme formado y bueno, ¡con toda la energía!”, expresó con entusiasmo. Su madre, Oneida Montoya, no pudo contener la emoción: “Fue mucho tiempo soñando con este momento. Ella siempre quiso estar aquí”.
Mientras trabajaban juntas y cursaban sus estudios, Sara Gómez en Psicología y Manuela Castañeda en Trabajo Social, enfrentaron el desafío de hacer malabares con horarios laborales, clases, prácticas y trabajo de grado; lidiar con pandemia y lograr sacar el título en cinco años. “Una felicidad muy grande, orgullosa de todos los compañeros y de Sarita”, dijo Manuela. “Felicidad y nostalgia porque la universidad era donde nos encontrábamos con los amigos”, completó Sara.
Abrazo del Alma Mater
“Ningún sueño es fácil y sabemos que no ha sido un logro individual, junto a ustedes se suman los sueños y los esfuerzos de muchas otras personas a quienes también felicitamos el día de hoy. Es la oportunidad de conmemorar la perseverancia y el esfuerzo. Por tanto, hacemos énfasis en el compromiso que desde hoy adquieren con cada uno de ustedes, con sus familias, la sociedad, la comunidad y el planeta”, resaltó el equipo directivo, presidido por el rector, Leonardo García Botero.
En la ceremonia de programas de la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, el TdeA entregó una mención de honor y grado póstumo a las familias de Daniela Mira Mendoza, estudiante de Psicología, y Karen Margarita Rojo Silva, estudiante de Licenciatura en Literatura y Lengua Castellana.
Al recibir el diploma de su hija, Alba Lucía Mendoza expresó: “Muy agradecidos por este gesto tan bonito y por la oportunidad que le dieron a Daniela de haber sido estudiante de esta institución”. Por su parte, Luisa Fernanda Rojo, hermana de Karen, también dedicó unas palabras: “Quiero agradecer al TdeA por haber sido una casa para Karen durante los últimos cuatro años. El apoyo, la forma en que han estado presentes, en que se han acordado de ella, que nos permitieron estar acá, es algo que vamos a recordar siempre”.
Birrete al aire
Durante la ceremonia, se entregaron 18 reconocimientos a estudiantes destacados, entre ellos Valentina Flores Cordero, quien obtuvo el promedio más alto de la institución.
Kelly Johana Mercado Bastidas, nueva Licenciada en Literatura y Lengua Castellana, fue la voz de sus compañeros en el recinto: “Queremos celebrar la fuerza y la valentía en cada uno de nosotros para alcanzar este momento. A pocos minutos de finalizar este viaje, nos encontramos aquí, más fuertes, más sabios y preparados para enfrentar lo que venga. Por supuesto, no podemos hablar de este logro sin dar un merecido reconocimiento a nuestras familias, que con su amor incondicional sacrificaron tiempo e incluso sus propios sueños por ayudarnos a alcanzar los nuestros”.
Después de ver los mensajes de cariño y orgullo de sus familiares, los chicos se dieron media vuelta y mostraron sus títulos a sus seres queridos, quienes respondieron con un corazón verde con el que dijeron: ¡Qué alegría tan grande!
Ajustar las velas y compartir el conocimiento con vocación de servicio
Los recuerdos que Camilo Andrés Cifuentes Silva tendrá de la ceremonia de graduación como magíster en Gestión del Riesgo y Medio Ambiente del TdeA, serán pocos. Apenas si alcanzó a estar durante los himnos, el juramento, la primera parte de intervención musical y el saludo del rector de la institución.
En la lista de entrega de diplomas su nombre figuraba de tercero. Una vez recibió su título de la maestría salió apurado al encuentro con su novia y un amigo, quienes lo esperaban en el lobby del teatro Metropolitano de Medellín, escenario, este primer semestre del año, de la graduación de 959 nuevos profesionales del TdeA.
El motivo de la premura de Camilo Andrés estaba justificado: debía viajar de regreso al municipio de Floridablanca, Santander, donde ejerce como profesional universitario, tras ganar hace poco un concurso como ingeniero Ambiental y Saneamiento de la localidad.
“Me dieron solo un día de permiso. Llegué esta madrugada a la ciudad, pero debo estar mañana a las 6:00 a. m. en la oficina y la carretera está cerrada por lo que el viaje se alarga más. Me hubiera gustado compartir con mis compañeros este logro, pero primero está el deber. Agradezco al TdeA por este título, espero aplicarlo debidamente para beneficio de las comunidades y la sostenibilidad”, comentó.
De manera apurada Camilo se tomó un par de fotos con sus acompañantes y, desde una de las puertas del teatro, abanicó sus manos para despedirse, a la distancia, de sus amigos de postgrado.
La ceremonia, la segunda de la jornada de graduación de este miércoles 26 de marzo, continuó con la entrega de los diplomas a 173 graduandos de los programas de la Facultad de Ingeniería y 104 de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Forenses.
La gala estuvo cargada de momentos emotivos y hasta simpáticos, uno de ellos cuando Isabela Castro Villa, Profesional en Criminalística, se paró para dar lectura del mensaje por parte de los graduandos. Sin embargo, cuando estaba ante el atril, la egresada se percató que no tenía el texto y con total naturalidad le pidió a su mamá que le llevara el celular, lo que provocó risas y aplausos entre los asistentes.
“Nos enfrentamos a desafíos inéditos en medio de una época de retos y grandes cambios. La verdadera medida del éxito no está solo en los logros que alcancemos sino en lo que seamos capaces de hacer con lo aprendido en beneficio de los demás. No se trata solo de ser buenos profesionales, sino excelentes personas. No es solo acumular títulos y distinciones, sino aportar soluciones a los problemas de la sociedad; y contribuir para que haya un futuro y un país más justo, inclusivo y equitativo”, leyó Isabela.
Las palabras de la egresada, ovacionadas por el público, concuerdan con el mensaje que minutos antes había compartido el rector del TdeA, Leonardo García Botero: “Que sus grandezas no sean solo personales, que sus inteligencias no sirvan solo para resolver problemas sino también para crear esperanzas. La institución les da las herramientas, pero son ustedes quienes las deben convertir en acciones con trascendencia para los territorios y las comunidades; porque el conocimiento que no se comparte se marchita y el talento que no se usa para servir se convierte en un reflejo vacío”, dijo.
El directivo invitó a los graduandos a ejercer sus profesiones desde el ámbito del servicio y el amor por sus carreras, pero en especial las comunidades. “El viaje apenas comienza: el viento será caprichoso, las olas a veces serán altas, pero recuerden, no es el mar el que define al navegante, sino su capacidad de leer las estrellas, de ajustar las velas y de encontrar, aún en medio de la tormenta, la certeza de avanzar y llegar a la orilla”, concluyó el rector.
Valor, admiración y compromiso entre los egresados del TdeA
La última ceremonia de la jornada de graduación de este 26 de marzo del TdeA, correspondiente a los programas de la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas, fue la más concurrida.
Cuando sonó el tercer timbre que indica el inicio del evento, ya el Teatro Metropolitano estaba completamente colmado. Los organizadores debieron acondicionar los palcos para acomodar a algunos de los asistentes.
En esta ocasión la encargada, por parte de la institución, de transmitirle el mensaje a los nuevos 365 graduandos fue la vicerrectora Académica, Andrea Aguilar Barreto: “Este acto simboliza un premio al esfuerzo de ustedes, como estudiantes, y de sus familias. A partir de hoy adquieren un compromiso con sus sueños, sus seres queridos y sus comunidades. Aunque hoy finalizan un proceso académico, este es el inicio de otra etapa importante: la aplicación y práctica de todo lo aprendido en distintos contextos, un ejercicio que demanda ética y responsabilidad”, indicó.
Como suele ocurrir, la ceremonia estuvo cargada de múltiples pasajes emocionantes. Sin embargo, hubo uno, en especial, que propició un sonoro y prolongado aplauso entre los asistentes: el anuncio del grado como Contador Público de Estiven Felipe Bedoya Tobón.
“Su condición es especial, no solo por sus brazos, sino también en su parte auditiva y habla. Solo a los tres años nos enteramos que él no podía escuchar, lo que requirió cirugías y la implementación de una prótesis auditiva. También tiene una cirugía de columna. Es un ganador y un ejemplo. Nos sentimos muy orgullosos de su logro”, resaltó Francia Maritza Tobón Serna, enfermera de profesión y tía de Estiven.
El joven agradeció al TdeA por darle la oportunidad de hacer realidad sus sueños y resalta que en la institución siempre fue tratado con atributos de inclusión, equidad y dignidad: “Invito a las personas que tengan alguna condición especial a que no se rindan, que busquen posibilidades y hagan realidad sus sueños. Crean que siempre habrá oportunidades, es cuestión de tocar puertas y alguna se abrirá”, detalla el nuevo Contador Público, quien reside en la vereda El Salado, municipio de Copacabana.
Por su parte, Dorian Lindley David Graciano, graduada en Negocios Internacionales, destacó el apoyo que recibió por cuenta de Bienestar Universitario en diferentes momentos de su carrera.
“Soy de Necoclí, he vivido sola en la ciudad. Amó al TdeA, muchas veces pude comer porque hice parte del programa alimenticio, el Fondo Alimentario. En varios momentos de la carrera me sentí flaquear. Tenía que trabajar para sobrevivir, y se me hacía muy duro. Tengo disautonomía, una condición médica que hace que el nivel de energía disminuya. Entonces, para mí era un sobreesfuerzo ir a trabajar y después a estudiar: eran jornadas de 10 o 12 horas diarias”, explica la recién graduada.
En esta última ceremonia, la institución otorgó títulos a profesionales en los programas de Contaduría Pública, Negocios Internacionales, Administración Financiera, Tecnología de Gestión Financiera, Técnica Profesional en Proceso Financieros, Administración Comercial, Tecnología en Gestión Comercial, Técnica Profesional en Procesos de Comercio Exterior y Logística, todos de la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas del TdeA.
Una nueva promoción de egresados TdeA, que se une a este estamento con la convicción de aportar al desarrollo social y productivo del departamento, del país y, muchos de ellos, en escenarios del mundo.
New Graduates of TdeA, What a Great Joy!
With joyful hearts, this was the atmosphere at TdeA on Wednesday, March 26, when one of the most important days for our university institution came to fruition, embracing 959 families in three graduation ceremonies held at the Teatro Metropolitano.
On this day, filled with emotion and pride, the ceremonial graduation acts for the programs of the faculties of Education and Social Sciences, Engineering, Law and Forensic Sciences, and Administrative and Economic Sciences were held.
After eight years working during the day as an administrative assistant, taking on her role as a full-time mother, and studying at night, Maritza Duque earned her degree in psychology at the age of 39. "I had night shifts and had to organize my schedule as best as I could." "It was crazy, many times I had to cancel classes, but we always found a way to keep going," she shared excitedly with her children and husband, their unconditional support on this path of perseverance.
Lizeth Rivera received her degree as a social worker, a dream that began years ago with volunteer work in the Santa María neighborhood in Itagüí. "I have always been passionate about social work." "I am very grateful to the academy for having trained me and well, with all the energy!" she expressed enthusiastically. Her mother, Oneida Montoya, couldn't contain her emotion: "It was a long time dreaming of this moment." She always wanted to be here."
While working together and pursuing their studies, Sara Gómez in Psychology and Manuela Castañeda in Social Work, faced the challenge of juggling work schedules, classes, internships, and thesis; dealing with the pandemic and managing to graduate in five years. "A great happiness, proud of all my classmates and Sarita," said Manuela. "Happiness and nostalgia because the university was where we met with friends," Sara added.
A Hug from the Alma Mater
"No dream is easy, and we know it has not been an individual achievement; alongside you, the dreams and efforts of many other people are added, whom we also congratulate today." It is the opportunity to commemorate perseverance and effort. Therefore, we emphasize the commitment that from today you are making with each one of you, with your families, society, the community, and the planet," highlighted the management team, presided over by the president, Leonardo García Botero.
At the program ceremony of the School of Education and Social Sciences, TdeA awarded an honorary mention and posthumous degree to the families of Daniela Mira Mendoza, a Psychology student, and Karen Margarita Rojo Silva, a student of the Bachelor's in Literature and Spanish Language.
Upon receiving her daughter's diploma, Alba Lucía Mendoza expressed: "We are very grateful for this beautiful gesture and for the opportunity you gave Daniela to be a student at this institution." For her part, Luisa Fernanda Rojo, Karen's sister, also dedicated a few words: "I want to thank TdeA for being a home for Karen during the last four years." The support, the way you have been present, the way you have remembered her, the way you allowed us to be here, is something we will always remember.
Graduation Cap in the Air
During the ceremony, 18 awards were given to outstanding students, including Valentina Flores Cordero, who achieved the highest average in the institution.
Kelly Johana Mercado Bastidas, newly graduated in Literature and Spanish Language, was the voice of her classmates at the ceremony: "We want to celebrate the strength and courage in each of us to reach this moment." A few minutes before finishing this journey, we find ourselves here, stronger, wiser, and prepared to face whatever comes. Of course, we cannot talk about this achievement without giving due recognition to our families, who with their unconditional love sacrificed time and even their own dreams to help us achieve ours.
After seeing the messages of love and pride from their family members, the kids turned around and showed their diplomas to their loved ones, who responded with a green heart, saying: What great joy!
Adjust the sails and share knowledge with a service-oriented mindset
The memories that Camilo Andrés Cifuentes Silva will have of the graduation ceremony as a master's in Risk Management and Environment from TdeA will be few. He barely managed to be there during the anthems, the oath, the first part of the musical performance, and the greeting from the rector of the institution.
On the diploma distribution list, his name was third. Once he received his master's degree, he hurried out to meet his girlfriend and a friend, who were waiting for him in the lobby of the Metropolitan Theater of Medellín, the venue for the graduation of 959 new professionals from TdeA this first semester of the year.
The reason for Camilo Andrés's urgency was justified: he had to travel back to the municipality of Floridablanca, Santander, where he works as a university professional, after recently winning a competition as an Environmental and Sanitation engineer for the locality.
"They only gave me one day off." I arrived in the city this morning, but I have to be at the office tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. and the road is closed, so the trip is taking longer. I would have liked to share this achievement with my colleagues, but duty comes first. I thank TdeA for this degree, I hope to apply it properly for the benefit of the communities and sustainability," he commented.
In a hurry, Camilo took a couple of photos with his companions and, from one of the theater doors, waved his hands to say goodbye, from a distance, to his postgraduate friends.
The ceremony, the second of the graduation day on this Wednesday, March 26, continued with the awarding of diplomas to 173 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering programs and 104 from the School of Law and Forensic Sciences.
The gala was filled with emotional and even amusing moments, one of which was when Isabela Castro Villa, a Forensic Science Professional, stood up to read the message from the graduates. However, when she was at the lectern, the graduate realized she didn't have the text and, with complete naturalness, asked her mother to bring her the phone, which caused laughter and applause among the attendees.
"We face unprecedented challenges in the midst of an era of trials and great changes." The true measure of success is not only in the achievements we reach but in what we are capable of doing with what we have learned for the benefit of others. It's not just about being good professionals, but excellent people. It's not just about accumulating degrees and distinctions, but about providing solutions to society's problems; and contributing to a future and a country that is more just, inclusive, and equitable," read Isabela.
The words of the graduate, cheered by the audience, align with the message that the president of TdeA, Leonardo García Botero, had shared minutes earlier: "May your greatness not be solely personal, may your intelligence not only serve to solve problems but also to create hopes." The institution provides you with the tools, but it is up to you to turn them into actions with significance for the territories and communities; because knowledge that is not shared withers and talent that is not used to serve becomes an empty reflection," he said.
The director invited the graduates to practice their professions from the perspective of service and love for their careers, but especially for the communities. "The journey is just beginning: the wind will be capricious, the waves will sometimes be high, but remember, it is not the sea that defines the navigator, but their ability to read the stars, to adjust the sails, and to find, even in the midst of the storm, the certainty to move forward and reach the shore," concluded the rector.
Courage, Admiration, and Commitment Among the TdeA Graduates
The last ceremony of the graduation day on March 26 at TdeA, corresponding to the programs of the School of Administrative and Economic Sciences, was the most attended.
When the third bell signaling the start of the event rang, the Metropolitan Theater was already completely full. The organizers had to set up the boxes to accommodate some of the attendees.
On this occasion, the person in charge of conveying the message to the new 365 graduates on behalf of the institution was the Academic Vice-Rector, Andrea Aguilar Barreto: "This ceremony symbolizes a reward for the effort of you, as students, and your families." From today, you take on a commitment to your dreams, your loved ones, and your communities. Although today you complete an academic process, this is the beginning of another important stage: the application and practice of everything learned in different contexts, an exercise that demands ethics and responsibility," he indicated.
As is often the case, the ceremony was filled with multiple emotional moments. However, there was one, in particular, that prompted a loud and prolonged applause among the attendees: the announcement of Estiven Felipe Bedoya Tobón's degree as a Public Accountant.
"His condition is special, not only because of his arms but also in his hearing and speech." Only when he was three years old did we find out that he couldn't hear, which required surgeries and the implementation of a hearing prosthesis. He also has a spinal surgery. He is a winner and an example. "We are very proud of his achievement," emphasized Francia Maritza Tobón Serna, a nurse by profession and Estiven's aunt.
The young man thanked the TdeA for giving him the opportunity to make his dreams come true and emphasized that he was always treated with attributes of inclusion, equity, and dignity at the institution: "I invite people with any special condition not to give up, to seek opportunities and make their dreams come true." "Believe that there will always be opportunities, it's just a matter of knocking on doors and one will open," details the new Public Accountant, who resides in the El Salado neighborhood, municipality of Copacabana.
For his part, Dorian Lindley David Graciano, a graduate in International Business, highlighted the support he received from University Welfare at different times during his career.
"I am from Necoclí, I have lived alone in the city." I loved TdeA, many times I was able to eat because I was part of the food program, the Food Fund. At various points in my studies, I felt weak. I had to work to survive, and it was very hard for me. I have dysautonomia, a medical condition that causes my energy levels to drop. So, for me, it was an extra effort to go to work and then study: they were 10 or 12-hour days," explains the recent graduate.
In this latest ceremony, the institution awarded degrees to professionals in the programs of Public Accounting, International Business, Financial Administration, Financial Management Technology, Professional Technical in Financial Processes, Commercial Administration, Technology in Commercial Management, Professional Technical in Foreign Trade and Logistics Processes, all from the School of Administrative and Economic Sciences of TdeA.
A new graduating class from TdeA, joining this sector with the conviction to contribute to the social and productive development of the department, the country, and many of them, in global settings.
